Day 14

Getting my white count checked tomorrow. I felt pretty good today. The girls and I ate lunch at the park and then went to the pet store. They have been asking to go for about a week now. We were gone for about an hour and half. All I heard was how much fun and how thankful they were to get out. So that was fun.

Last night we had a lot of fun. My neck hurt for a while this morning so you can figure that some of my girls stayed all night. It was worth it thou. I think Alexa knew her bed was going to be much more comfy then mine. Madison and Savannah were so crashed this morning. It was too cute.

Lee I am praying for your family! Wear that bracelet with lots of love. Yvonne, Sharon, Cindy,Pat and Sherry thanks for my cards.

Thanks for all your prayers. I do feel them! Giving praise for another nice day.

Love Cindy

Glad you had fun with your girls.

My brother-in-law has a biopsy in the morning, but the doctor has already told him it's stage 4 cancer...mainly in his left lung...but the mass is wrapped around his aorta...it's also in his right lung, on his adrenal gland, and possibly on his liver. So...he needs all the prayers he can get. Thank you for praying for him in spite of your own struggle...it will mean so much to him.

I just love the park in the fall. The weather has that brisk feeling, and the air is quiet, peaceful and comforting. To me it show's God's glory in such an awesome way. That is way cool you got to get out with the girls...Praying for a wonderful weekend.

Train Up a Child -- Encouragement for Moms said...

My friend, LeeBird, who I've known since junior high told me about you, and thought I'd touch base with you.

My mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer and all but 1 of her lymph nodes was cancerous. The cancer had started going into the fatty tissue around the lymph nodes.

You know it was shock after shock. It was overwhelming and we felt raw and exposed. Trying to process all the information given at all the different doctors' appointments and trying to put one foot in front of the other was exhausting.

My mom went through chemo and radiation. When her hair started falling out, she asked me to shave it off. She had the most gorgeous hair that always laid perfectly. It should have come as no surprise she has a perfect head too. She looked gorgeous even without her hair. She was so brave in her fight. We did what we could to encourage her and keep her spirits up -- sent goofy cards from off season or different languages, had chemo parties (when she had chemo she never knew who or what would show up to keep her company), food, laughter, grandchildren, etc.

December 21, 2007, was my mom's last radiation treatment on my dad's birthday. Her PET scan and bone scan in April came back negative. Hallelujah and PTL!

Two things -- her oncologist is a Christian doctor who prayed over us, for us and with us on our visits, and he said he could no more predict the number of days my mom had any more than he could predict his own. God is the holder of our days. Second, this is but for a season in your life. It will be one of the toughest (as if I have to tell you that), but it will also be one of the richest seasons in your life.

Keep journalling. We kept photos and I scrapbooked my mom's journey. It's awesome to go back and see God's hand in it all.

I pray you have family and friends who are available to support you and encourage you. If not, please feel free to contact me. I've gotten pretty good at this cheerleading stuff. My mom's best friend was diagnosed with aggressive Stage 2 breast cancer and is undergoing chemo now.

My prayer for you is that of healing, for strength, for wisdom, for courage and for endurance.

Kristy
