I am by myself this week and I am looking forward to feeling normal. It is hard but being at home and taking care of everything will never get old.

Thanks John and Monia for all your help! Cant wait until you come back.

Thanks for all my cards in the last few weeks:
Tom,Juanita,Pat,Yvonne,Nichole,Gail,Keri. The girls love them. We are making bracelets this week and weekend. So I will email everyone when they are on their way. Thanks Sharon and Nichole for getting them out. It is going to be fun and Alexa is ready.

I want everyone to praise God and thank Him for taking care of me. He is hearing everyone and I want to give Him the GLORY that He deserves! Love you all.

I feeling much better today.

I wanted to show you where I had my port put in. I still has the strips over it. It is healing fine but it hurts sometimes and feels so weird. You can see the port under my skin right under the bottom strip. I sure hope I dont have to have it for longer than a year. This will be one of my scars that will be a reminder of how much you all have walk this journey with me. Love you!

Praying for stronger days and looking forward to feeling good. Have a wonderful day.

Day 11 (day32) Awareness

I guess you are hearing a lot about breast cancer because it is October. Some may say yeah but I not even 40. I am not going to worry about it yet. Ok so then you think well it does not run in my family or I don't know anyone that does so I may not think about it but once a year. STOP! It is time to take charge. My story:
I am 38 years old. I have been married for 14 years and I have a daughter that is 12, one that is 9 and one that is 7. I nursed all the girls from either a year to almost 2 yrs each. I was done nursing and having children when I was almost 32. Never any problems. Not looking for anything. Happy with my life. Jan of 07 I went to my GYN for a normal visit. I told him that I felt a lump or something under my arm. He checked and gave me my exam and said that I was fine. I sat up and I said so you are sure that I don't need a base line mammogram? He said your fine. So I left and trusted. Throughout the year I would feel it. I ask a few other drs along the way. I was sick last spring and had to go the hospital and showed the dr. Oh it moves it is ok. So when I went back to the same dr this summer. I showed him again. He said lets go ahead and send you. So I had a mammogram and ultrasound. Came back with my results. Nothing on the mammogram but the lymph node is big. It is suppose to be 1cm and my is 2.4cm. So she said lets biopsy it. I came back had that done and waited. Waited a long week. The dreaded call. Mrs. Summers is it a good time to talk?? I thought no way? Yeah I can talk. Well I hate to give results over the phone but it is malignant. She talked for a long time. When I hung up I did not know how I was going to walk in the house and tell Mike. What about the girls? I waved my hand for Mike to follow me outside. I said I have it! I have cancer ,they just have to find it now. Next step was to have the MRI. Got my results right away. They saw a small 4mm nodule in my left breast only. So I went the next day to have it biopsied. The results were ready when I went to see the dr Aggressive stage 111. WOW really? Me? How? Because it already spread to multiple lymph nodes that is what it was staged. I was horrified. I was scared. I was out of control. The dr explained what he thought. Of course I heard a third. My mom, sister and Mike were with me. So now off to the oncologist same day. Went through lots of test. The dr there gave me the bottom line. You need chemo, surgery, radiation and reconstructive. In that order. Remember it does not run in my family nor at the time did I know anyone who had all of this. So all I can do is cry. Long day. Lots to think about. Lots to question.

Lesson learned...you are OK...I don't need a base line....your fine. No way never again. Go see someone else get a second opinion. You are in charge of your body. I did not know any better but now you do. Please take care of your body. Listen to it and know it! You do not need to be scared just be AWARE. Spread it around. I do not want another women to make the same mistake. Can you believe after all I have gone through so far that this dr has not called or checked on me once. Sad.

I am young and it does not run in my family history. Cancer does not wait until your 40 or 50. It is October learn and be aware every month.

Love you all
Cindy

Thanks for all my cards the last few weeks! Crystal thanks for the book. Sabrina thanks for the shirt. Dana thanks for checking on me.

Keep Praying

Day 10 Catch up

I am feeling ok today. I started running a fever yesterday but low enough that I did fine! Praise and sing:) I am very sore but that is my little reassurance that my white counts are working hard. I am ready to get up off this couch but my body is not ready so I will listen to it and rest.

Things to catch up on!

My girlfriend and neighbor signed me up and bought me a ticket for a breast cancer fundraiser here in Greenville. So Thursday night my MIL , Bree and myself went. It was a nice hotel here. They severed dinner (2nd time I have eaten out in 6 weeks or so) They also had tickets for sale for raffles. The baskets were incredible. I bought my and the other girls did and we dropped them in what would like to win. Of course they had a handful of survivors they recognized(Praise-want to be in their shoes soon) Then they called my name(Bree gave it to them) It was overwhelming to be the only one in the room full of 100's of people. They gave me a rose and top that I will post later. Then once I sat down they said that there was a house cleaning service that wanted to give something to a currently fighting patient. So they called my name and said that she was going to clean my home once a month for a year. I was so emotional that I could not get up! They came to me. It was so nice and thoughtful. So the rest of the night we played bunco(never played ever). I had a great time. My MIL won of the big baskets full of so much I will post that later too. When we got home she handed me the basket of fun and said I hope you enjoy it. It was a great night. I hope when you have time you jump over and look at reflector.com and you will see me on the 3 and 4th picture. So this mama went out on the town. Bree thank you for having me be a part. It was a lot of fun and I was glad you invited me. Thanks to the companies including Stokes Landscaping for donating tons of stuff ($11,000) Thanks to the Greenville Womens League for putting to together.

Tomorrow I want to catch everyone on me and the last couple of months. I want to talk about breast cancer and how important it is to be proactive. I love you all and want you to be healthy and aware.

I want to talk about Alexa's bracelets because I am starting to get emails so she is ready to get busy. It slowed down and she needs to keep busy. Thank you for wearing them. It is an amazing feeling.

Keep me lifting and I thank you. I am looking forward to seeing what is next for me. I am blown away that other than the icky taste and feel days done here and there. This has not stopped me. 3 toxic medicines -chemo in my body. I am hanging in there. Lord please continue to use me for your Glory.

Love Cindy
weak but hanging:)

Day 9 Thank you

Well today as you can see I was in the bed all day. My energy is way low and I am so tired. I worked on my blog and said goodbye to the Army colors and hello to a Sister in Pink:) Hope you like it and it is easy to read. I have so much to tell you but I do not have the energy to be long winded. So it will be a date very soon. To be continued...

But I wanted to say thank you for praying hard for me. I am blown away because I need my white count to come up so I prayed and I asked for my circle to lay their hands on me and I woke up this morning in terrible pain. I am talking all day pain. Why am I happy because my bones are working hard to bring my counts up I know it I feel it. I have not had any test and I am not a dr I just know. So ouch *praise*ouch*praise is what I am saying!!! Keep lifting me by next Friday I what jump with my girls on the trampoline and bounce this cancer out.

Sweet Dreams(hope for me too)

Day 8-Results are not good

I am extremely tired and weak today. I was hoping to go on and on about last night. My white count is reading zero! I am have been told to be inside, no visitors, no raw veggies or fruit and no one sick, no other children. My body is very weak and I can get extremely sick. Please pray for me. I will catch up with you as soon as I am well. Check out reflector.com and go to scene around. Click on bunco for breast cancer. I am picture number 3 and 4. Check out my "crazy & sexy" wig! I cant wait to tell you the details.

God give me the strength to rise above this. God heal me and wake my bones up and start producing new white cells. Lord send my warriors to work. I need them. Lets make zero jump with glory.

Day 7-tired, excited and cant wait to chat

I am going in for my white count check in the morning. Pray for me! I am so tired tonight. So tired that I think I over did it but I had fun. You are not going to believe what I did tonight. You are going to have to wait until tomorrow. It is worth the wait. I love you all. Don't forget to praise Him for getting me this far:)

Day 6- going visiting to your blogs

First I am sorry I have not felt good enough to visit or respond. I do feel better today. I hope everyone is well. Made another game! There is so much that I want to get caught up on. Thanks for all my cards this week. Thanks for all my new blog friends and comments. Your support is the best. Lee thanks for my letter!

I have a challenge that the girls and I want to do. The idea came from one of my girlfriend bloggers. She had a great idea that the girls want to take on. We would like at least one person from each state to wear Alexa's bracelets in my honor! So Nichole, the girls have decided to use their money to make more bracelets to send you and you can help us take this on your end too. If you are up to the challenge you say the word:) This will keep the girls busy and they are convinced the world can save my life. Thank you for making this world a beautiful place.

So far we have:
NC
SC
FL
WA
CA
TN
AZ (did I forget any?)

Thank you Lord for all that I have. Thank you for a better day. I love you

Day 5 Need a check

It has been a tuff few days. I keep telling myself I can do this. I found myself in the bath feeling bad, sore and just very down. I thought how could I do this. I am only in my 2nd treatment. It is such a lonely feeling when you get to that point. As I sat there I slowly looked up at the high ceilings I heard my girls laughing and getting ready for me to come out and start their day. They need me to be there. So I pulled myself up and went about my day. It is amazing what a mom can do. There is no amount of pain that is going to keep me from being my girls mom.

I know the last few days have been very random and may not have made much since. All these medicines can make you so strange. Thank you for letting me vent, be scared and journal my journey.

Praise Him for a successful surgery! I am still sore but it seems to be healing. As soon as all this medicine is out of my body I am going to eat very healthy and pray that my white count stays up. It was wonderful to hear the dr say how strong my body did last time.

Thank you for your commitment to watch what God has in store for me. Love you all

Day 4 tired

I started my day going to the doctor and having my port checked out. It is healing fine. I also received my shot. So I pray that it works as well as last time. I spent the rest of the day sleeping and trying to eat healthy. The girls went to Raleigh today and went on a few tours with Mikes dad. I am thankful that my in laws are in town and helping out so much. Cleaning and cooking and giving the girls extra time.

Well I am am going to make it short. Pray for a better day tomorrow. I am back to the strange taste in my mouth. So I am trying to stay positive and listen to my body. God give me the strength to push on through.

I hope to chat with you tomorrow as happier girl!

Love everyone

Day 3- Caught up on some rest (day 24)

Well I have not done too much today. I have been trying to take my medicine when needed not as much as I did the first go around. I am weaning myself off the pain medicine. I have only taken it once today. The port is sore but I is suppose to be worth it. I will be getting it checked out tomorrow and see how I am healing. I also will be getting my shot tomorrow so when my white counts are down my bone marrow will kick in. Tomorrow pray for my results to be good.

I can not believe that I have made it this far. I still have a long time to go but a day at a time is the goal. Thank you for continuing to encourage me and follow me through this journey that I could not do alone. I hope to feel better tomorrow so I can visit everyone to see how you are being used to reach out to make this world a better place. You all have blessed me so much. I am thankful to have all of you.

Lord guide me this week and hold me as I prepare for next weekend. Let me be strong and let my body take this medicine to heal me completely. Pray for the girls to understand. Amen

Day 2 Very tired and still sore

Today I slept most of the day. I guess from the extra medicine from surgery it has just worn me out. I have never been one to take anything so when I do it is going to work in over time. Well I am still a little sore but I am hanging in there. Thanks for all your prayers. I was so nervous yesterday and I knew the power was behind me. In a few days I will tell you more about my surgery when I can sit longer. I plan on getting a wonderful night sleep and a restful day tomorrow.

Monday I will be going to get my neulasta shot. My dr was amazed at my counts on Friday she said that I was strong and that you have never known that I had Chemo. Praise Him! I love you all deeply and I could not be driving on without you all. I am thankful. Please continue lifting me and holding my hand through this journey.

Sweet dream and a wish for all of you to be blessed

Day 20-Thurs is my last day of round one

I am starting to get extremely nervous. I am trying to figure out what all I have to do to be ready. Tomorrow homeschool as much as I can concentrate on. I need to write down all of my questions so I will not forget to ask my dr when I am there. I have Alexa's game. She is handling everything so great. I still feel like I am in this dream sometimes. My mom is coming and my father-in-law. I will have a busy evening but that might be good. I need to get all my meds ready and filled. I start taking one tomorrow which is the steroid. I can not believe it is here. Time to start again. Give me the strenght to stay in control.

So how is my hair? It was looking pretty crazy and my scalp started hurting again. So I did it! Mike shaved my head almost bald. I was not comfortable with the way it felt so I left a tiny spike. It feels weird. Anyway it is done.

Friday is coming and I am scared about everything. Thank you for letting be honest about my fears. Crazy ups and downs.

Pray for the breast surgeon to be successful with the port. Pray that I don't get sick from the surgery and then have to go to the cancer center, pray for the treatment to go smoothly and pray for a good weekend. Lord hold my hand and let me know I am going to be OK.

Thanks for my cards this week. More bracelets went out today. Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for praying for my little girl. May you all be blessed!

Love Cindy
Please allow my to sleep tonight.

ps-anonymous the card was wonderful

update on Alexa

Mike took Alexa to have her ultrasound. So I heard what he said. Of course it did not make much since. Dr. Brinn called shortly after he is Alexa pediatrician. He told me that the pediatric radiologist felt like it was were the artery and vein meets and it made a little knot full of blood. There were a few things she said it might be but felt confident that it was not cancer. He said they were taking it seriously and she would be seen again in 3 months. I went round and round making sure how important this is and I do not want it taken lightly. So we are to watch for it to grow. hurt or become red. I just cant believe this. So I am having to trust that they are saying it is OK right now and they think it is nothing???? So keep her in your thoughts and prayers. As her mom I am worried but I don't want her to know that. I want to be proud that she found it and continue to have faith.

I am tired now so I will update about Friday later tonight. Thanks so much for everything.
Cindy

Quick Post- Alexa

Alexa found a pea size lump on herself. She is having an ultrasound today 12:30. Mike is going to take her. I can not believe this is happening right now. Oh please let this be nothing.
Pray for her

PENTA WATER

This is Mike, I want to thank PENTA WATER/ Bio Hydration for sending us 5 cases of water as well as coupons to use for Penta water. This water taste great to Cindy even though her taste buds are affected by treatment. Thanks again Jay Josafat and Elgin Gilbert.

Day 19-Almost done with this go around

Today was a good day. Just started to look at the next few days. Tomorrow I am going to journal about the events for Friday. My mom is coming in on Thurs. My MIL is still here. She is helping with cooking and cleaning which I am thankful for. Thanks Yaya!

Of course it is about that time for October to come around and everything is pink. I saw a portion of Oprah today. It was kinda sad at times. I think it is awesome the Susan G. Komen's sister was on the show. It is a great foundation. I will add my sister's and mom's link at the end if you want to check it out and see how they are doing. Pray for "The walk for the cure" Thanks Mom and Stephanie!

Thanks Penta water for sending me water. That was a nice surprise!! Tap water and some other waters are not good for me or just taste like metal. You taste buds change. So I am drinking water that does not have a lot of stuff in it. So thanks it does get expensive. So if you see Penta water grab one and drink it up and say thank you from me:)

3 more days and it the power of pink! So girls get your pink ready and pray hard for me. I love all you so much. Thanks for your support. I am so lucky to have you all in my life. Praise Him:)
Love my life

Day 18-Picture the future you want and claim it!

MADISON(MY BABY) and Daddy
Well today I felt good. I have not taken any medicine in 3 days. The girls are doing great. So I am trying to get mentally prepared for Friday. I will go over my day on Wednesday. I will need your support. I want to get focus, positive and feeling good. I have been back on a raw diet this week. Keeping the body detoxed. I did have some (small) dark chocolate. It was so good! Organic, whole wheat, lots of veggies and thick skin fruit. I learned something new from the nutritionist I can freeze my bananas and they are OK to eat. I am dreaming of a frozen banana with organic dark chocolate covering it. Yum:)

Thurs I am going to recap the last 3 weeks. Can you believe it. I almost there. Lets pray: Dear Heavenly Father thank you for walking and holding my hand. Thank you for carrying me when I could not walk another step. Thank you for sending me all these hands and thank you for giving me my heart so that I can grab on to hope, faith and believing that you are around me forever and always. Thank you God for my family. God thank you for sending your words that are coming from everywhere. My new friends, I love them. I am so grateful-Amen

Last night I had a friend call me and remind me of my strength and she told me that God had plans for me. She told me to hold on to He will heal me of all my diseases and that I will conquer this it WILL NOT CONQUER ME! I needed that. Today I had a friend that I met through this blog that called me today. Again her words were comforting and wonderful. God is shinning through her. The power of praying is amazing. Don't ever give up. Life is wonderful. It is precious and I am blessed.

I want to praise Him for giving me the gift of these last few weeks when I thought I was going to be a train wreck. It is because of Him. Please praise Him tonight-Thank you

As you can see I am full of so much-sorry for going on:)

Sweet Dreams and Bless my sore head

Day 17- Feeling Blue but not feeling sick

I am feeling good over all. Last night I just got so emotional. It was terrible. I could not believe that how scared I was feeling. I was having all of these thoughts. I was not feeling right at all. I could not get the feeling of dying out of my mind. It was terrible and I felt so lost. I am not ready for all this. It was so overwhelming for me. I don't know what was wrong. I seemed to have been so lost. Where is my direction? How can I be so strong and then the next minute I am falling apart. I don't know it was like a roller coaster. I guess I am mentally tired. Why did I not feel in control? Sorry for losing my strength. Why was I not leaning on God? Where was he?

Today Monia and Mike made me organic whole wheat blueberry pancakes and hard boiled eggs. It was a nice treat. I also got another hair cut. I am down to few days of hair. It is weird but the medicine is in my body. So 2 weeks to the day my hair is falling. I am a happy hat wearer. I am not much for the thinner hair. It is way different look for me. I think I might bring out the wigs this week:)

Last week until it is time to go for this again. Thanks again for every ones help, support and continuing prayers.

Day 16- Good day with my Savannah

The girls are cutting my hair! I thought it was a good idea to get them involved.

Savannah and me hanging out today. The date on the picture is wrong. We were trying on hats today. Next will be wig fun:) If you see any cute hats or scarfs let me know.

She is making me feel better about my hair:)

Playing on the bed and just having girl time! She is going to grow some hair for me.

My inlaws sent my these gorgeous flowers. Thanks John and Monia

Mike hung this above my bed.
I had a pretty good day today. I just am getting a little anxious to see the doctor and see what she says about everything. I start wondering sometimes about the what ifs and it scares me. I am praying so hard. I pray that it does not spread. I pray that the chemo is working well. I am thankful for all my prayers that are being answered. I can not believe that I have done as well as I have. So thank you for lifting me up. To another beautiful day.

I will try to get a picture of myself over the weekend so you can see my hair. I got it cut a few weeks ago. I will be getting my hair cut shorter on Sunday (maybe shaved) My hair designer from Charlotte is catching a flight and coming to help and play and talk to the girls about mommy losing all her hair. So it is going to be interesting to see what happens between now and Sunday.

Day 14 Game time

I am feeling great today. I hope this stays the same. The only thing is I keep feeling a little knot on my right side mid area. It scares me. I hope it is not anywhere else so just say a little prayer that it is nothing. Next appt is on the 3rd of Oct.

Well I made the game. It started to rain right after halftime so my father-in-law thought I should leave. He thought it might make me sick if I sat in the rain. So I was out there but I was so happy to be there. Anyway here ya go! Enjoy the pictures:)

Day13 The day is coming...

Another good day. I felt pretty good today. I went through and did my regular routine. By the afternoon was tired so I took this body to rest:) I talked to the nutritionist and she said that my counts were very good so go ahead and eat more raw veggies and fruit while I can so I did and it was good! As I am amazed at how well I am doing I forgot about my hair until....

TODAY:(

I guess the day is coming soon. My hair is coming out little bit at a time. It is almost like I am shedding so it is sad. I thought I was a little more prepared than I was this morning. It took me a good while to grow my hair and love it so:) I will be OK thou.

Tomorrow another game and I hope to make it! At least I made the first so we will see. Thanks again for walking this journey with me. I hope that someone like myself can use this to guide them and encourage them. Since BC does not run in my family I did not know what to expect so here is my way of the real deal. A day in the life of a 38yr old mom living and coping with breast cancer. Fighting is the only option!

Day 12 Good day-half way done with 1st

I actually cleaned my house and homeschooled today! I was so excited. I woke up today a little weak at first. I was able to drive Alexa to school this morning. It felt good:)

I went and had my labs done today and they were happy with my white, red and platelet counts. They seemed surprise. Of course being the first time I was not sure what they could actually be but I am not complaining. If they were good goody for me. The only thing they were worried about was on my face I have a booboo (pimple) and it just needs to be watched because it can get infected and make me sick. So I am on it!

Now I am halfway done with the 1st treatment. Hooray for me. So pray that I continue to do as well as I have done. I will continue to eat well, take my medicine and rest when needed. Thanks for pushing me on. So far this has been amazing. If that is even the right thing to say.

Keep lifting me up

Day 11 Much Better Day AMEN

I woke up to feeling so good. Homeschooling went great and we covered a lot. Mike made breakfast and lunch for me and I still felt good. I was able to go for a ride in the car to check my PO box. I did not get out just to be safe from germs but it was nice to get out. Thanks for all the cards this week!

It really means so much to me so thanks a bunch. I am running a low grade fever but I hope it continues to stay in control. Thank you God for that!! I talked to my pharmacist today and he said that I was doing good. He also said that I should do pretty good each time. I may be more fatigued each time. I can live with that. I am just focusing on being healed completely. I am praying that this working and everything is going to be ok.

Nichole thank you so much for the box of sweet and very thoughtful things. The girls and Mike loved the words of encouragement. As a mom, women and friend I want to thank you so much for the love and comfort you are sending this way. I am blessed to know you.

Thank you God for everything you have given me and I am so thank for all of you. God thank you for holding my hand and sending these friends to me to remind me of you Amen.

Day 9 Rough night last night

Well I want to post some stuff today about a surprise Mike gave me and about the batch of bracelets that are done but I am not feeling well today.

Last night I started running a fever. I talked to the doctor and the nurse next door came and sat with me for awhile. The doctor said that I needed to take Tylenol and to drink a lot water and watch my fever until it got another point. So of course I was so scared. I did not want to end up in the hospital or for the doctor to back off on the meds that I need. So I did ok the rest of the night. Today I have just taken things slow. I started having lower back pain and terrible leg pain. Well this is from the neulastin shot. It is suppose to kick in when you white counts are low. The bone marrow begins to start making more white blood cells. This is why my femur bones hurt so bad. So I will remember day 8 and 9 will be rough. Praying tonight for no fever.

Love my love

It was a struggle but I made it. Alexa was great. I have one picture that my 9 year old took. It is not the greatest shot but she took it for me. Hopefully next time I will feel better. Thanks for the push to get me there!

Day 7

Day 6 Lord thank you for another good day

I am feeling ok today. I know that the power of prayer is working. I was able to homeschool the girls with no problems today. We worked hard and had a good time. The girls were able to go to a play date too!

I am down to one medicine and it is keeping me feeling pretty good. Thank you for all your support!!

Tomorrow if I am feeling good I really want to make Alexa's first game. I told her I would be there even I sat in the car.

I guess now the road to staying well while my counts fall. This will be for next week or so. So continue to pray for me and I thank you so much.

Love Cindy

Day 5-Tired

Very tired today. Today has been the most tiring day for my yet. I went to the breast surgeon and scheduled my appt for my port to be put in. So that is done. This is suppose to keep me from getting stuck too much. The chemo is very toxic my veins. So pray that the nurses do a good job so it does not get infected.

In the next few days my white counts will fall and bottom out. Sounds scary but I am going to pray that this is the time that God will kill this terrible disease. I think I will feel this way for about a week or so. Pray for strength.

The girls are doing great. Homeshooling is coming along fine. My sister-in-law is filling in and doing a great job.

Alexa has her first cheerleading (footballgame) game. I am hoping that I will be up to it. If I can drag myself there I will sit in the car to experience the excitement with her and the team. I have giving my life to this precious girls and I deserve to see it through. Being a mom is my greatest accomplishment. I love it!

Thanks for being committed to me and pushing on. Thanks for the words that will continue to show me there is a powerful God watching over me.

Love
Cindy

Day 4-Praying Hard-I am thankful

I went to the doctor today and got a shot neulastin(not sure spell). It is to help bring my white count up when needed. It was very painful but I will need it so it is done. I can tell I have mountains of people praying for me. I have been keeping up with my meds and I have not felt too bad. I feel like I am rocking on boat here and there but other then that I am hanging in there. Please keep praying for me as my counts will continue to fall. Hopefully the shot will not put me in too much pain. It may or may not make my bones ache. I am prepared and ready for the chemo to work. Tomorrow appt with the breast surgeon about a port so I do not have to mess with my veins too much.

Thanks for the cards Cindy and Keri! Alexa will be working on your bracelet tomorrow. She is so excited!!

God I pray that you heal me completely and thank you for all these wonderful family and friends. The power of prayer is driving me hard.

Day 3

I am feeling about the same. I tired but I cant complain. I have been taking my meds around the clock so I hope this is how I can continue to feel. My mom left this morning. Mike is hanging in there. He took the girls to the park so they could run and play. I know this is so hard on all of them.

I spent sometime making my lesson plans for the girls this week. I hope I will be able to hang in there for them until this is all over with. The are doing great. Learning lots about germs and keep the house extra tidy.

Tomorrow I go get a shot to bring my white count up. So pray that it will do what it is suppose to do. I think it makes your bones hurt. Tues back to the breast surgeon to talk about a port so they do not have to stick me anymore.

Keep praying that the meds are killing these terrible cells. I am going to keep believing that God can heal me of all my disease.

Day 2

Today has been slow. I have been up a little here and there. I have been taken all pre-meds on time so I can kick the spinning that I feel often. Feeling like you are on a boat all the time. My mom and Mike have been taking very good care of me. I sure do not want her to go home tomorrow.

I pray for another day like today tomorrow. Thanks so much for your powerful prayers! I do feel it all around. The girls are fine.

Thanks Midi, Carrie, Mike, Stephanie,Michael and Keri for dropping everything and cleaning and sanitizing my house. Helping with the organizing so it will be easier for Mike to keep up with.

I am thankful for today!
Thanks to all my blog friends that are walking this journey with me. God is good!!!

Day 1

I am home now. Today was extremely scary. I was shaking all the way to the cancer center. My Mom and Mike kept me positive and promised me that they would not leave me. I had my labs done first and then an IV started. It is a weird feeling when think you are about to receive toxic drugs through your veins. Of course no one was my age or even close. I was the only newbie there too. The nurses were all nice and walk me through everything slowly. I loved the pharmacist. He spent a lot of time helping me understand every medicine that they were giving me and everything that I will be taking at home. He told me what to expect. I was there for about 4 1/2 hours. I will be losing my hair in about 2 weeks. I love my hair but it is in the plan. It was an ok experience. Better than I thought.

How am I feeling?? I feel very heavy, I feel seasick and nervous. I am keeping myself full of meds so that I can try not to be too sick. It is a strange feeling. I try to tell myself that I am fighting against something that is so nasty and it wants to fight back and I just cant let it. I continue to look at my wrist. I will update you tomorrow if I am feeling ok.

I felt your love and knew you were praying. I am through with the 1st treatment. I have 5 more to go. Pray for peace in this happy body. Pray that in coming days I can tolerate this. If not they will back off.

God thank you for blessing me with my blog and the beautiful people that are pulling me through! I truly love you all.

The girls are great! Mike was wonderful and mom was well my mom. You are never too old to need your mom(glad my is a RN)

Love to all

Pray for healing:)

Chemo tomorrow

Quick update-sorry I did not yesterday. I went to the new doctor and she decided to start my treatments tomorrow. I will have 6 cycles, every 3 weeks. Not sure what to expect. I am getting TAC. They are treating me heavily. Each time I come back they will check to see if it shrinking. The goal is to get rid and be cancer free.

I am not sure how I will feel. So I will update and have my husband also check for me. The comments are wonderful and I thank you for your support.

My husband opened a PO Box for me so that I can get out to do something simple. Feel free to send the girls a card if you want. Also for those of you that want to get a bracelet that my daughter is making ,you can send her a request and donations only. she can continue to keep up with them. She is extremely excited. She is putting hope, believe or faith on them.

Pray that this saves my life. As I am at the cancer center (1030-230)think of me. I do believe that the warriors are out there and watching out for me and I thank you for that.

Sending love of pink everywhere

Tomorrow-Say a prayer for me

I think all of my test are done and results are in. I will be seeing a new oncologist. My insurance company is not going to pay for the oncologist that I was seeing. So I will be seeing the new one tomorrow. Hopefully I will feel a connection with her. Of course I am extremely scared. I am praying that there is no bad news.

I have been working hard on my diet and exercising as much as I can. I am trying to keep busy as I wait. I cant explain the thoughts that run through my mind. I look around and notice so much more. I truly want to live. I want to see my girls grow up. It is such an uncertain feeling sometimes. I try hard to trust and believe. I look at my wrist. I think about what my daughter keeps telling me.

Lord give me strength

Thanks again for everything
Nicki-thanks for the email

Talking to the Girls

Well one of the things I was dreading was talking to the girls. I decided to tell them separately. I started with Alexa. I knew I did not want to start the conversation with I have CANCER and scare her. So I tried to talk to her about some bad cells living inside my body that are not healthy. She immediately said "mom do yo have cancer" I froze for a moment and thought kids are so smart. I replied yes baby. She look scared but told me that I was going to be fine. I just needed to BELIEVE. She was amazing. She started saying I will do anything. I will ride the bus, I will help you do whatever. My husband was crying so hard I had to ask him to relax. Alexa began to make bracelets for all my family and neighbors. They are pink beads with the words believe, hope or faith on them. She wants everyone to wear them and save my life. I could not believe that in a days time she had made them and was knocking on doors and putting them on. It has kept her busy. She wants to start her own little business with these bracelets to support breast cancer. She is a positive little go getter! 2 days later I told Savannah (9). She did not understand the cell story. She just wanted to know if I was going to be alright. She said she would not bring germs into the house and she would be good and help. That was a much easier talk. I loved that she is still too young to understand and carry any stress right now. 2 days later I told Madison(7). She was worried and of course did not understand but could feel my concern. The girls will ask questions here and there. Madison came up to me yesterday and said "Daddy pinky sweared me that you were going to be ok" It took my breath away.

Next appt on Wed-taking forever to start. I have been trying to detox my body. I am suppose to be drinking penta water. It is very expensive and I have to drink a lot of it. Any advice on food. I am following a vegan diet right now. It gets boring thou.

Thanks for all you support/ Keeping praying for me. Pray for some answers on wed. Pray that the chemo works and pray that it stays away from my organs and bones.

God please heal me

Results are in-The Power of Praying

Prayer Warriors are working hard! My bone scan came up clear. Another day behind me. The next step is to get the results of the protein so they can decide what chemo to give me. So many decisions to make.

My prayer request to give the Dr the knowledge to treat me or go through with the surgery. Now that I know it is no where else I want it out now. I understand they want to give chemo first so they can watch the cancer shrink. If they take out the breast before they aren't for sure that they are giving me the right meds. God please give me the patience. I am anxious to get this started.

I am still so scared and nights are the worst. I beg God to pull me through. Thanks again for every ones support and praying each and everyday!

With love
One day at a time

Calling all Prayer Warriors!

Pray hard for me tomorrow! I am having my bone scan tomorrow. I can feel you surrounding me....I know you are praying for me....My CT scan results showed no cancer in my organs. It did show multiple lymph nodes in the breast where the primary cancer is.

A few more test and I will be ready to move forward. As I look down at my wrist and I see the word BELIEVE I have peace. I look above my bed where my husband hung pale pink letter that say HOPE I feel loved.

What is my plan? Where are you sending me? I am overwhelmed.

Pray for my family, pray for the doctors to have the knowledge, pray for my body to heal.

Thank you
Cindy

FOOTPRINTS....

Footprints
One night I had a dream--I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord and across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints, one belonged to me and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before me,I looked back at the footprints in the sand.I noticed that many times along the path of my life, there was only one set of footprints.I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life. This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,you would walk with me all the way,but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. "I don't understand why in times when I needed you most, you should leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,I love you and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. "When you saw only one set of footprints,it was then that I carried you."...Mary Stevenson

Results: Breast Cancer 111
I had a lot of tests yesterday. It was a long and tiring day. Too much info passing over my head. I was looking through a fog and not sure where I was going? I saw the breast doctor and the oncologist. Both concerned and wanted to aggressively care for me as the cancer is aggressive. Scared and waiting for more tests hoping that it has not traveled anywhere else? God please I am begging for answers.

Next week the beginning of the journey: Chemo begins then later surgery and then radiation.

Scared....Telling my girls, losing my hair and just staying away for the outside germs for awhile. I am very heavy with preparing myself to hand over my responsibilities to my family. I am aching inside.

I will try to update as much as I can. Email or call anytime. Encourage the girls. Pray, pray, pray.

I want to fight for my life. I am going to FIGHT FOR MY LIFE!

Monday

I had a MRI on Monday. That was interesting. When they slide you in it closes in on you. So for 45 minutes with an IV in my arm I laid on my stomach. Hot? Yes Hard to stay still? Yes. As soon as I was done I called my Dr and I could not believe that she already had my results. Mike and I pulled over on the side of the road to hear. The doctor said that is saw a small 4mm nodule. She wanted to see me T or W to biopsy it. The thought of that made me sick. I just had this on the 12th.

Yesterday morning she (dr) called to biopsy me. It took about an hour for everything. They found 2 places to biopsy and send off to the pathologist. My results are suppose to be ready on Thurs.

So many questions I have. Not sure what to think??Do I just have breast cancer? Why is it in my lump node? Is there more to come? It is not in my family? Why do I have it? I am 38 why now? Scared and Confused! I need answers! Tomorrow is a big day for me. I am hoping to see the oncologist also. What is in my future I don't know?

Thanks for all your prayers-I am use to praying for and helping everyone and now being on the other side has some taking use to.

Leaning on God to give these doctors the knowledge to allow me to take care of my girls while they are so young. Please remember the girls do not know. Thanks

Cindy

I Dont like this post...

I can barely type this post. I know all of you have been calling and checking on me and waiting as I have. It was not what I was expecting to hear. The doctor called yesterday and asked me if it was a good time to talk?

I knew! My biopsy came back as malignant. I don't have a lot of info at this time. I will be having a lot of test run to find out if it is just breast cancer or is it coming from somewhere else. So for now I am extremely scared and confused. AS a mother I have chose not to tell the girls. Please respect that decision and be careful who is told and for tiny ears listening. Thank you.

My next appt is Monday. Pray for me as I fight for my health.

Girls

Just a quick update:

Alexa will be 12 very soon. She had her summer cheerleading camp. She had a blast but super sore! She is being published in a poetry book at the beginning of the year. She is ready to go back to school. I walked in yesterday and she was packing her backpack. Weird how they cant wait to get out but are ready to go back. Cant complain!!!

Savannah learned how to sail over the summer. It was really fun to hear and watch her teach me. She will be 10 in Dec. She still loves playing babies all the time. If you have baby clothes send them to her. She cant get enough. She enjoys being outside on the trampoline and riding her motor scooter. She will be home with me this school year. Getting excited.

Madison will be 8 in Nov. She enjoys two little babies in her life. Nicholas and Brayden are the center of her life right now. She loves babies more than anyone I know. She is going to be a great babysitter. She loves art and reading. She will also be home with me this year.

My three Army brats!!!!!!!!!!!

Tot Trade/craiglist

I have been so busy moving stuff out. I have spend the last week pulling stuff from the attic garage boxes and everywhere. I am pricing things for Tot Trade in Charlotte. I also have been putting stuff on craigslist. It is a lot of work but kinda fun. I did not realize how many Halloween costumes that I had. I guess I never got rid of any. Three girls equals a lot of stuff. The only thing that is getting in my way is: Oh, ooooh, I love that, I need that, mommmmmmmy....All the sudden my girls want to hang on me and lean over my shoulder. Funny they have not worn or played with this stuff in forever. Saying bye to the barbie jeep yesterday (had since 5yrago) was sad. Oh well they are better today. They are just trying on costumes. Wish me luck!!

Important Post: A prayer chain request. My girls have found a star and it is called HOPE. I would like everyone to look up at night and prayer for a little girl who is going to need surgery(kidney). Her mom is a very good friend and they need your prayers. So don't forget to look for the biggest/shiniest star and make a wish for her. She will be listening. Thanks

Update on the girls tomorrow
Love and happiness

Praying for a friend

I have a friend who has been there for me during a sad time. I lost 3 family members in a short time. They were 3 important men in my life (and the girls). My friend carried on for one of them. She has filled a big void in the girls life after my cousin died. I want to be there for her. Please pray for her as she takes on her fathers illness. He is having surgery today. I am not sure what the outcome will be or when I will hear from her but raise her up. She has suffered way too much the last few yrs as well. God hold her during her pain and keep her strong.

Yvonne you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Where is the Summer going?

It seems that I always have so much to get done over the Summer. Clean the attic, garage and get organized. The biggest one to get geared up for the up coming school year. So lets see what have I done??? Oh yeah played with the kids, saw a few movies, read a few books and slept in almost every morning. Oh well. This year is going to be way different. I will be homeschooling the two younger ones and Alexa will be going but they are changing to uniforms. She is kicking and screaming all the way. I have been checking places for the best price and of course the most STYLE! So pray for us every morning.

Oh by the way the ORDERS are on the way. (if you are not military:time to move or not)

Is your mail box getting full? If you follow me on Fridays it will. I love free:)

Another beautiful day. Take some time to think of someone looking down on you from those wonderful skies.

I read my friends blog about homeschooling. I am hoping to get some great info. So I am going to go looking for some of you to post on her blog. I know everyone is busy but you never know what you have to offer. It maybe the right info someone may need that is afraid to ask. Thanks in advance!

Catch up Day 1

Hey there! Trying to get better. The girls did good on their EOG's. Thank goodness it is almost over. It has been interesting. The girls have had soooooo much to do this week and with me being sick has made it crazy.

So because of Nicki I blog when I can. The life of an Army family can be fun but hard sometimes. Never the same school, never the same house, never the same people for long anyway. This is a long (20yr) lesson that is going to make us a well rounded family (i hope). When my husband said he wanted to serve his country he made the commitment and has been going "Army Strong" for 17yrs! Thanks to all my friends I have made along the way.

I will start posting deals as I run across them. It has been fun but I have been out of it for a week. I found all of these through different blogs. Please correct me if I miss something. Remember I am new to this so I dont want anyone to jump me. Lots of trials and free stuff to try. Go to walmart.com and click on free samples: view all and start filling out for what you want. I think they change every few weeks or so. I already see my mailbox filling. Pretty cool!

Start signing up for rebates at ace hardware: Lots of free stuff sorry I did not get this post out I was so sick but they had 5 things for free. So get ready for the next big sale. Acehardware.com

A calm morning

Today is EOG. Last night my girls ate a yummy dinner (salmon). Fish is good for the brain. Last night I had them put a letter from me under their pillow. So they would have sweet dreams of encouranment. This moring Mike cooked eggs and bacon. I put a bunch of sticky notes of on their placemat. I love you, you are smart, I am proud of you etc. Cold water, chewing gum and a small piece of chocatlte. While they were eating I massaged their tiny little feet with B&B lotion. I think I got it covered:0)

She got it from her MAMA......Not

Not sure if you have her that song by Will.i.am. Anyway my girl did it. She went in under all the pressure for her cheerleading try-outs and nailed it! Of she did not get that from her Mama she go it from her Dada:) I always choke under pressure and Mike always does better. Oh well I guess we will see how she rates with other girls. Alexa was proud of her performance so that is all that matters. When I picked her up the 2 out of 3 teachers that were in there with her came out and said she did awesome. So tomorrow night is the results.....Until then, she is now at the State Chorus Performance in Greensboro with her Daddy. Busy life of an 11 yr old.

Bye for now

The month of May

So this is the deal I thought that May was suppose to be slowing down. This family is on turbo and my head is about to fly off. This week Alexa will be at the All-State Chorus. She very excited of course because she was the only girl chosen from her grade. She is trying out for cheerleading and the results come out on Friday night. Not sure how that is going to go. More on that later. The lesson on winning and/or losing?? As Mom I hate that but it is part of growing up. Next week EOG's. Some teachers act like it is the end of the world. Too much stress. My recipe is good food and lots of rest! And then fun the following weekend. If we can get through this and next I will be so happy. So much for my drama. It is time for updates and prayers:

To my favorite BNL-Jonny: Tackle your job and do great things. I pray that you are successful:)
Alexa enjoy this week of new things
Savannah and Alexa be confident and calm
Breeanna sing like an angel
Teri jam on your tupperware
Nicki back into the grove
Mike feeling better and this accident works out
Madison and Carson XXXOOO
Steph and me you know hmm hmm
Private prayer is lifted (please lift too)
